Image Licenses
Image licenses are licenses required for image conversion done by the links. The image types needing a
license are:
Postscript
PCL
GIF
Every time a TC/Link does file conversion this action is registered on TCOSS. If a registration is already
used for the workstation hosting the TC/Link, it will be used again. If there is no registration available, the
conversion will not be done.
11.4.5
Directory Synchronization and File Type Recognition
Directory synchronization is licensed per system whereas it was licensed per workstation in the old mode.
There is no change done to the file type recognition license in the new mode.
11.5 Server Licensing
You get a license for every single server feature you want to use.
Note: If TCOSS is running in restricted mode and you add the missing licenses via the License Tool,
TCOSS must be restarted to leave the restricted mode.
11.5.1
Channels and Disk Size
TC/Links or TFC based applications do not use up any channels. There is also no other type of application
that uses up any channels. The new licensing does not provide any restrictions to disk size.
11.5.2
Channel Licenses
There are 6 types of different channel licenses:
FAX channel licenses
VOICE channel licenses
FAX/VOICE channel licenses
TELEX channel licenses
SMS channel licenses
VOICE IP PORT licenses
A FAX channel license for x fax channels allows the use of x fax channels on TCOSS. The same principle
applies to the VOICE and the TELEX channel license.
A FAX/VOICE channel license allows the use of a fax or a voice channel.
An SMS channel license allows you to operate a GSM box connected to TCOSS by a TC/Link-WM. There
is no license necessary for using the TC/Link-WM, the SMS channel is licensed per GSM box.
