I.5 Set-Up
1) Insert the paddle spindle into the viscometer spindle adapter as far as it will go. Line up the
“groove” on the spindle with the thumb wheel and tighten the thumb wheel (Figure 4).
2) Be sure that the power switch is in the “off” position. Attach the power cord to the appropriate
power source.
II. OPERATION
1) Pour thoroughly mixed sample into the container to within 3/4 inch (20 mm) of the container
top.
2) Bring the sample temperature to the specified test temperature.
3) Move the operating handle to the top (upper most) position. Place the sample container onto
the base by pulling the spring loaded front locator out, placing the container against the rear
locating pins, and releasing the front locator as shown in Figure 5.
