Thank you for purchasing US-RA-5000 Digital Kitchen scale.

Please read all operation instructions carefully before use.

Scales are precision instruments and should always be handled
with proper care. To ensure years of reliable service, keep these
simple tips in mind:

Do not exceed the scales maximum capacity. Overloading your scale

can permanently damage it!

Avoid exposure to extreme heat or cold. Scales perform best at normal

room temperature. If temperatures have changed dramatically,
recalibration may be necessary.

Allow your scale to warm up for 30-60 seconds before performing

calibration (if available).

Store your scale in a clean, dry location. Dust, dirt, and moisture can

accumulate on the weighing sensors and electronics causing inaccuracy
or malfunction.

Avoid using you scale in close proximity to strong radio wave emitting

devices such as computers, cash registers, and cordless phones.

Always weigh on a flat level surface, free from vibrations and drafts.

The corner of a room is usually the most stable.

Gently apply all items to be weighed. Do not drop items onto the

weighing platform.

Avoid dropping your scale. The warranty does not cover damage due to

rough treatment or overload.

I-

SCALE OPERATION

Always weigh on a flat horizontal surface.

1. Before turning the scale on, set the switch on the underside of the

scale to the desired weighing mode (kg/g or lb/oz).

2. Press [ON/OFF] key.
3. Wait until “0.0” or “0” is displayed.
4. Put the object(s) on the weighing platform / bowl.

II-TARE WEIGHING

When using the bowl to weigh or another container, it is best to simply turn
the scale on with the container on the platform already. The scale should go to
zero. Otherwise you can use TARE:

1. Turn on scale as described above.
2. Place the “tare item” on the platform.
3. Press [TARE] and wait until “0.00” is displayed.
4. Add the “net-weight-item”.

III-STANDARD CALIBRATION

If the scale should ever deliver a false reading, they can be calibrated in the
following way if required.
Press ON/OFF key and hold up, meanwhile, quickly press TARE key 2 times the
LCD display will show “---“. Release the ON/OFF key first, then press ON/OFF
key again. The display now shows the maximum possible weight that the scale
can measure. Place the exact equivalent. Press ON/OFF key again, the display
will now show the maximum weight, followed by ‘PASS’.

Calibration is complete! You can turn off the scale.

V-TROUBLESHOOTING

The primary reasons for inaccuracy or malfunction are low batteries,
incorrect calibration, overload or operating on an unstable surface.
