Controls in detail
Power windows
̈ Switch on the ignition ( ୴ page 36).
Opening the windows
̈ Press switch 1 to 4 to the resistance
point.
The corresponding window will move
downwards until you release the
switch.
Closing the windows
̈ Pull switch 1 to 4 to the resistance
point.
The corresponding window will move
upwards until you release the switch.
Fully opening the door windows
(Express-open)
̈ Press switch 1 or 2 past the
resistance point and release.
The corresponding window opens
completely.
i You can also open or close the windows us-
ing the:
ț Soft top switch ( ୴ page 254).
ț SmartKey (summer opening/convenience
feature) (
୴ page 252).
Depending on current position, the windows may
also open or close when:
ț the air recirculation button , in the con-
trol panel of the climate control
(
୴ page 189) or automatic climate control
( ୴ page 199) is pressed and held
or
ț the charcoal filter button e in the control
panel of the automatic climate control
(
୴ page 199) is pressed and held.

Operating the rear side windows from the
rear is not possible if you activate the override
switch (
୴ page 86).

With the SmartKey in starter switch
position 0 or removed from the starter switch,
the power windows can be operated:
ț until you open the driver’s or passenger’s
door.
ț for at least five minutes.
Warning!

If you pull and hold the switch up when
closing the window, and upward movement
of the window is blocked by some obstruc-
tion including but not limited to arms, hands,
fingers, etc., the automatic reversal will not
operate.
