• Do not attempt to disassemble or ser vice the pump or motor. No
ser vicea ble par ts are inside. Contact your La-Z-Boy ® dealer for ser vice
infor mation.
Troubleshooting for Luxur y-Lift ® Power Recliners with Heat:
The electr ic motor in this chair is equipped with an automatic reset over load
protector. This device protects the electr ic motor from damage if there is an
over load, by stopping the operation of the lift motor.
If the automatic reset overload protector trips and shuts down the motor:
• Release the UP or DOWN toggle switch. The protector should reset
automatically.
If the automatic reset overload protector trips repeatedly, check the following:
• Make sure the ca ble tie, used to hold the chair base in place dur ing
shipping, has been removed.
• Make sure the operating ca pacity of 500 pounds has not been
exceeded and there is only one occupant in the chair.
• Make sure there is nothing blocking the movement of the chair.
If the automatic reset over load protector continues to tr ip, or if the system
still does not wor k, contact your dealer for instr uctions on retur ning the
chair for examination and repair. Never attempt to make any repairs or
adjustments yourself.
There are no user maintenance or repair requirements . If the lift recliner does
not wor k:
1. Make sure the Power Transfor mer is plugged into an electr ical outlet.
2. Make sure the electr ical outlet is wor king. For example, make sure there are
no blown fuses or tr ipped circuit breaker s .
3. Make sure all the connectors are secured; refer to the Assembly Instructions.
4. Make sure the electr ical cords are not cr imped or pinched. Make sure the
electr ical cord or plug is not damaged.
5. Make sure the operating ca pacity of 500 pounds has not been exceeded
and there is only one occupant in the chair.
If the lift recliner still does not operate proper ly, contact your dealer for
instr uctions on retur ning the chair for examination and repair. Except for
replacement of the Power Transfor mer, never attempt to make any repairs or
adjustments yourself.
Power Transformer Replacement
If the Power Transfor mer must be replaced:
1. Unplug the Power Transfor mer from the electr ical outlet.
2. Locate the Power Transfor mer connection; refer to the Assembly Instructions.
Gently pull the connector s a par t to disengage.
3. Push the replacement Power Transfor mer connector into the mating
connector; refer to the Assembly Instr uctions . Make sure the connectors are
secured with no gaps between them.
