Chapter 4 Using the Remote Programs
User can use Microsoft Internet Explorer to access DVR system by entering the IP address. To use this
feature, make sure that your PC and DVR server both are connected to the internet and the Network
feature is enabled.
Accessing this feature for the first time you will be prompted by your browser to install PCViewX.cab,
allow the installation and you should be able to connect and login afterwards.
For Windows XP/Vista/7, click Install when the Internet Explorer - Security Warning dialog box appears.
After installing the PCViewX.cab and when connecting to the DVR system, you are required to enter
account ID and password; then, select the type of network. Admin account has the authority to remote
setup the DVR system configuration on PCViewer. User account only can preview the video on PCViewer
and Remote Console.

- To have smooth remote frame rate, it’s suggested to connect DVR by selecting WAN (512K/64K) as the
Network Type on PCViewer.
- To operate full remote function, please use “Administrator” account to execute IE browser.
After login, the PCViewer interface is displayed.
