Troubleshooting Tips
Before you start thinking that there might be something wrong with your
camera, please check the following checklist. If this doesn’t solve the
problem, please take the camera to your nearest Canon service facility
(listed at the back).

The camera is not focused?
(focus lamp in the viewfinder
blinking)
Press the shutter button halfway
again. If it still does not focus,
set the focus mode switch to M
(manual) and focus manually.
3. Photographs
are blurred.
Focus mode switch on M.

Set the focus mode switch to AF
(Autofocus).

Camera shake.
Press the shutter button without
shaking the camera.

The batteries are very low.
Replace the batteries. You can
take photographs normally when
the battery symbol lights.

4. On the LCD
panel, only

blinking.
Misoperation due to some other

If the shutter button is pressed
halfway and the battery symbol
lights, photographs may be
taken normally.
* If after doing the above a
number of times and the
battery symbol still does not
light, there may be a problem
with the camera. Please take
it to your nearest Canon
service center.
