Fully-Automatic Flash Operation
Make sure that the pilot
lamp is lit.
Aim the active focusing point
on the subject and press the
shutter button halfway.
• Focus is achieved and the shutter
speed and aperture settings are
dispiayed in the viewfinder and on
the LCD panei
• The E-TTL indicator on the rear
of the Speedlite 220EX lights
•The sync speed is set to 1/90
sec. automaticaiiy and the aper
ture is set automaticaiiy at the
same time
Check that the ^ , shutter
speed, and aperture set
tings are displayed in the
viewfinder. Then, press the
shutter button completely
to take the picture.
The Speediite 220EX fires a test
prefiash immediately before the
shutter is released After obtaining
an initial flash exposure reading
with the prefiash, the Speedlite
220EX fires the main flash to pro
vide optimum flash exposure
The test preflash is fired to obtain an initial flash exposure reading which is used to compute the output of the main
flash for optimum flash exposures.
The main flash is fired when the shutter is released to provide optimum flash exposure.
