With the system set to Matrix, Matrix Balanced Fill-Flash is
available.
Based on a combination of general scene brightness and con
trast, the exposure value for the background is determined by
one of five computation methods: Low-Brightness Weighted,
Center-Segment, Average, Fligh-Brightness Weighted, or Very-
Fligh-Brightness Weighted. Together with the background
exposure metering, the F4’s microcomputer automatically
chooses one from five flash output levels determined by the
combination of brightness and degree of contrast. The result is
a balanced combination of ambient light and flash illumination
that produces a natural-looking and pleasing effect.
