OPERATION

BEFORE STARTING

Your Chip-N-Vac engine is shipped without oii or
gasoiine. Service the Chip-N-Vac engine with oii and
gas as instructed in the separate engine manuai.

Inspect the Chip-N-Vac to make sure aii covers (rear

door, vinyi boot, eibow, hose adapter, hose and deck
adapter are properiy attached.
Check tires for proper inflation (12-14 ibs).

WARNING: Never fiii fuei tank indoors, or
with the engine running, or whiie the engine

is hot. Do not smoke whiie fiiiing tank.

HOWTO STOP YOUR CHIP-N-VAC

To stop engine, move the throttie controi iever to the
OFF position.

Disconnect spark piug wire from piug to prevent ac­

cidentai starting whiie equipment is unattended or is
being worked on.

CAUTION: The muffler and adjacent
areas are hot!

HOWTO START YOUR CHIP-N-VAC

A

WARNING: Never start or run the engine
without aii covers being properiy attached to
the biower housing and cart.

Check oii and gas in Chip-N-Vac engine.
Attach spark piug wire to spark piug.
Move choke iever on engine to CHOKE position.
(A warm engine may not require choking.)
Move throttie controi iever on engine to FAST position.
Grasp starter handie and puii rope out siowiy untii
engine reaches start of compression cycie (rope wiii
puli siightiy harder at this point). Let the rope rewind
siowiy.

Puii rope with a rapid, continuous, fuli arm stroke.
Keep a firm grip on starter handie. Let rope rewind

siowiy. Do not iet starter handie snap back against
starter.

Repeat instructions in two preceding paragraphs untii

engine fires. When engine starts, move choke controi
graduaiiy to RUN position.

HOWTO USE YOUR CHIP-N-VAC

A

CAUTION:

Vehicie braking and stabiiity

may be affected with the addition of an
accessory or an attachment. Be aware of

changing conditions on siopes.

Inspect the Chip-N-Vac to make sure aii covers (rear

door, vinyi boot, elbow, chipper chute with tamper
piug, hose adapter (nozzie), hose and deck adapter
are properiy attached.
Check tires for proper inflation (12-14 ibs).
Check oii and gas in Chip-N-Vac engine.
Begin operation at iow speed, adjusting forward speed
to match grass height and/or moisture condition to
prevent ciogging.
Do not attempt to vacuum up any materiai other
than vegetation found in a normai yard, such as iight
branches, ieaves, twigs, etc.

WARNING: Shouid your Chip-N-Vac
become ciogged, shut off tractor and
Chip-N-Vac engines. Before attempting
to unciog, remove wire from spark piug to
prevent accidentai starting.

To empty cart, shut off tractor engine and set brake.
Shut off Chip-N-Vac engine.

Remove rear door from cart.
Reiease the iatch hoiding cart down to the tongue by

puiiing up on the iatch iever. See figure 28.
Using a rake or suitabie tooi, puii the grass ciippings
and/or ieaves out of cart.

CAUTION: To avoid possibie injury, be
sure that no one is near the cart before
releasing the iatch.

After cart is emptied, secure cart to tongue with iatch
and reattach the rear door and the vinyi boot.
