Outdoor Antenna Grounding
If an outdoor antenna or cable system is irtstalled, follow the precautiocts below.
An outdoor antenna system should not be located in (he vicinity of overhead power lines or other
electric light or power circuits, or where it can cortw in contact with such power lines or circuits.
WHEN INSTALUNG AN OUTDOOR ANTENNA SYSTEM, EXTREME CARE SHOULD BE
TAKEN TO KEEP FROM CONTACTING SUCH POWER LINES OR CIRCUITS AS CONTACT
WITH THEM IS ALMOST INVARIABLY FATAL.
Be sure the anteima system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges
and built-up static charges. Section 810 of the National Electrical Code provides iirformation with
respect to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to
an anteima discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, kxation of anterma-dischaige unit,
connection to grouitding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.

SERVICE
Unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and consult qualified service persoimel when:
-the power cord or the plug has been daiiurged.
-a solid object or liquid has fallen into the cabiitet.
-the appliance has been exposed to rain or moisture.
-dte appliaiKe does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a tiurrked change in performance,
-the appliance has been rlropped, or the enclosure clamaged.
Do not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in die operating instructions. For
all other servicing refer to qualified service persoimel only.
