1 Set POWER/LOCK to POWER.
2 Press ON/OFF. The radio is turned on.
3 Press FM/AM to select the band (FM or AM).
Select AM to receive SW, MW or LW.
4 If you select the FM band, skip this step.
While pressing the SCAN STOP/AM BAND, press an outer
MANUAL TUNE/SCAN START/STANDBY TIME SET/TIME SET
button (ior <>
1 ) repeatedly to select the desired band or meter
band.

The minimum frequency in that band or meter band is received.
What is a meter band?
SW is divided into 13 bands by the wave
length (meter).
Each band is called a meter band. (See
the table on page 19.)

Press an MANUAL TUNE/SCAN START/STANDBY TIME SET/
TIME SET button to search for a desired station. Pressing the
outer (Kh or <>
1 ) or inner (<> or <>) buttons changes the frequency in
the following frequency step.

When the station is tuned in, the TUNE indicator lights.
Adjust VOLUME.
To turn off the radio, press ON/OFF.
Frequency band does not change
If you keep pressing MANUAL TUNE/
SCAN START/STANDBY TIME SET/
TIME SET, the frequency will repeat in
the following ranges.
