Explanation
For better utilisation of the available frequency bands, the
satellites transmit adjacent programmes, with opposite
polarity (horizontal and vertical). Reception of both horizontal
and vertical polarity is covered by the universal LNB.
This interactive feature allows the user to access and scroll
through complete programme listings covering current
and following programmes on the television screen.
Company or corporation that supplies audio or video
programmes.
A removable credit-card-sized plastic card issued by a
programme provider. The card is necessary to receive
coded programmes.
The rate at which the transmitter is sending information.
The symbol rate specifies how many symbols per second
are carried across the channel.
