The safety of the motorcycle rider is dependent on proper installation of this product. If you are not certain of your capabilities or do not
have the correct tools for this installation, please consult a shop to have it done for you. Improper installation of this product could result
in injury or death to the rider.

Do not connect the battery until told to do so in these instructions. Failure to do so may result in damage to your wire harness and other
motorcycle electronics which can result in costly repair and service fees. Leaving the battery disconnected during the entirety of this
installation prevents accidental starting of the motorcycle which could cause injury to you or others around you
.

To avoid damage to the motorcycle and motorcycle components follow the guidelines specified by the manufacturer when assembling
and servicing your motorcycle.

When S&S® released the X-Wedge™ engine, this created an additional market to provide the customer with a complete wire harness for custom
motorcycles. The S&S EFI wire harness was created specifically for motorcycle frames with two inches of stretch in the backbone and uses fuel
injected S&S engines, including X-Wedge. The S&S EFI wire harness also accepts most stock parts designed to fit Harley Davidson® Softail™ models
along with other parts specifically offered through S&S.
NOTE: The S&S EFI Wire Harness is only compatible with motorcycles utilizing Delphi® style modules.
Currently, there are three major aspects of the S&S EFI wire harness that distinguish it from most other aftermarket wiring harnesses. These
improvements include provisions for a knock sensor, bank angle sensor, and closed loop oxygen sensors.

Knock Sensor
Since a knock sensor is not typically offered in most aftermarket harnesses the capabilities were added as a beneficial feature to the S&S EFI wire
harness (knock sensor not included). With S&S electronic control modules (ECM) now being capable of detecting knock, S&S decided it would be
very important that knock be monitored to improve engine performance and durability. With this feature, the ECM is now capable of controlling
ignition timing which ultimately prevents premature damage to your engine.

Bank Angle
The bank angle sensor represents a very important key in the design of all S&S products; safety. The bank angle sensor is essentially a motorcycle
safety tip-over-switch. When the bank angle sensor (not included) is plugged into the S&S EFI wire harness, the motorcycle’s ECM, reads zero
voltage from the bank angle sensor. In the event of a motorcycle tip over, the voltage seen by the ECM increases to 5 volts. This change from 0 to
5 volts relays to the ECM that the motorcycle is not running under normal operating conditions and cuts spark and fuel. This is especially critical in
motorcycle accidents to help prevent the spread of excess amounts of fuel. Mounting orientation of the bank angle sensor is critical to functionality;
please consult the manufacturer of the bank angle sensor for proper mounting orientation.
