Cleaning the print head The print head must be cleaned
manually once a week or if the
message "15" is displayed.
• Open the printer lid and then
press CLEAN and LOADED
simultaneously.
• The print head (72, Fig. 7 )
moves upward from the re-
placement plate.
• Push the lever (69, Fig. 8 ) upwards. Then
remove the red replacement plate (70,
Fig. 8 ).
• Take one of the provided Leica foam
swabs, wet it with some alcohol and
clean the print head. Be sure not to use
too much; alcohol must not drip into the
instrument.

Never use acetone or xylene!
Only 95 % or 100 % alcohol is per-
mitted for cleaning purposes.
• Clean the red replacement plate using a
Leica foam swab moistened with alcohol.
• The sealing lip of the replacement plate
(71, Fig. 9 ) has to be absolutely clean – NO
ink residue is allowed on the front and rear
side! Check the sealing lip for damage.
