The ink cartridge and the exchange plate have to be replaced after 3.5 months at
the latest or after 60,000 prints. Mark the date of insertion on the white label field
of the ink cartridge.
In this manual, an example of how to insert the ink cartridge is shown using the
IP S printer. This also applies to the IP C printer.

Inserting the new ink cartridge
• Take a new ink cartridge from the carton
and remove the plastic packaging.
• Check the storage life and mark the
insertion date.
• Carefully shake the ink cartridge 2-3 times.
• Pull the red retaining bracket forward and
insert a new ink cartridge about halfway
into the slot (

• Open the door on the left side of the
instrument (1,

), take the red protec-
tive cap out of the recess (2,

) on the
ink cartridge and screw it tightly onto the
ventilation device (3,
Fig. 2
).
• Then open the red protective cap by ap-
prox. one turn (4,
Fig. 3
).
• Pull the red retaining bracket forward
and pull the ink cartridge out of the slot
by approx. 30 mm until the "Ink Empty"
LED lights up.
• Finally, re-close the red protective cap
tightly and take the ink cartridge all the
way out of the slot.
