as with any other piece of outdoor power equipment, get-
ting the feel for how your machine operates and getting to
know the best techniques for particular jobs are important
to overall performance.
the chipping operation takes place on the front of the ma-
chine, where hardened steel chipper blades are mounted
on a rotating disk assembly. Material fed into the chipper
chute is sliced into small chips and propelled out through
a discharge tube.
before operating your machine, be sure you read and
understand all safety, controls and operating instruc-
tions in this owner/operator's manual and on your
machine. Failure to follow these instructions can re-
sult in serious injury or property damage.

Reference the honda or briggs engine owners manual.
Make sure the chipping chamber is empty before
starting.
Check levels of gas, oil, and hydraulic fluid and fill if
necessary (see Sec. 2).
Make sure the chipper engagement lever is in the start
(uP) position.
engage the choke if necessary.
Adjust throttle to start/idle position.
turn the key to the right to engage the starter.
Release the key after the engine starts.
Gradually return the choke from the choke position to
the run position as the engine warms up.

Handle fuel with care. It is highly flammable.

Move machine to a clear level area. do not
operate in the vicinity of bystanders.

turn key to preheat position (to the left). hold in pre-
heat position for several seconds until glow plug light
switches off.
activate the starter by turning the key to the right.
Release the switch as soon as the engine starts. do
not crank for more than 10 seconds.
