6 INCH CHIPPER
FEATURES & CONTROLS
18 feed roller lifT Jack (boTTle Jack)
used to lift the feed roller. the feed roller can be raised to
inspect and service the machine and to clear a plugged
disk. Secure the feed roller in the raised position using
the snap pin.
3 chiPPer engagemenT handle
during engine start-up, the engagement handle must be
in the uP position (disengaged). When the engine is at full
throttle, carefully engage the rotor by slowly pushing the
engagement handle doWN. to disengage the chipper,
move the handle back uP to the original position.
8 feed roller conTrol bar
To control the feed roller, adjust the control arm to one of
its four positions. the cycle of the control arm is Reverse,
Stop, Forward, Reverse (see Sec. 4.8).
21 rear sTabilizer
Prevents the chipper from tipping when disconnected
from the towing vehicle. always have in uP position and
clear from ground when moving the chipper. When the
chipper is operating, place the stabilizer in a doWN posi-
tion on a level surface.
15 discharge caP
Directs the discharge of chipped material vertically. Adjust
the discharge cap by turning the cap adjuster handle.
16 discharge chuTe
directs the discharge of the chipped material horizontally.
the discharge tube can be rotated 360º by grasping two of
the four chute handles, pushing the handles down, and turn-
ing the chute manually. Secure the chute with the lock pin.
6 chuTe eXTension TraY
the feed chute has an extension tray that folds down.
1 conTrol Panel
the fuel gauge, throttle, choke and ignition are located on
the control panel (see Sec 3.1).
7 feed chuTe
Materials to be chipped are fed into the feed chute. they
are then pulled through the feed roller to the blades.
9 hiTch Jack
Used to adjust the height of the hitch. Always have in UP
position and clear from the ground when moving. When in
use, place in doWN position on a level surface.
12 safeTY chains (domesTic onlY)
Safety chains are used during towing to prevent the chip-
per from completely separating from the tow vehicle in the
event the chipper detaches from the tow vehicle. Cross
the safety chains under the hitch and connect to the tow
vehicle.
4 sPeed conTrol
Controls the speed of the feed roller. turn the knob clock-
wise to decrease the speed of the feed roller. turn the knob
couterclockwise to increase the speed of the feed roller.

Stores owner's manual and safety goggles for easy access.
14 discharge caP adJusTer
Rotate the handle to adjust the discharge cap vertically.
20 fuel Tank cover
Open to fill up the fuel tank.
2 smarT relaY
the smart relay detects when the chipper blades are ro-
tating fast enough to begin chipping and allows the feed
roller to engage (see Sec. 4.7).
13 feed roller access cover
Provides access to the blades.
17 chuTe Turn handles
to rotate the discharge chute, grasp any two handles,
push them down, and turn the discharge chute.

22 safeTY bar (s&f models onlY)
activate the safety bar in case of an emergency by push-
ing it horizontally. When the safety bar is activated, the
feed roller is stopped. the chipper will not resume feed
ing materials until the reset button on the top of the feed
chute is pressed (see Sec. 4.8).
23 reseT/override buTTon (s&f models
onlY)
When the safety bar has been activated, the red light will
go on and the feed roller will stop. Push the reset/override
button to resume forward feed.

Use the snap pin to secure the feed roller lift jack.
