4.1 STaRTING a GaSoLINE CHIppER

Reference the engine owner's manual.
Make sure the chipping chamber is empty before

Make sure the feed roller control bar is in the Stop

Engage the choke if necessary.

Turn the key to the right to engage the starter.

Release the key after the engine starts.

4.4 movING CHuTE aND DISCHaRGE Cap
Direct the discharge chute and cap to adjust how high and
how far the chipped material will be thrown. The chipper
chute can be locked in 18 different positions (see Fig.
4.1).
To rotate the chute, grasp any two of the four chute

handles, pull the handles down to a horizontal position,
and turn the chute.
Take the lock pin out of its holder and put it into the
2.
hole in the discharge rotator plate. Adjust the chute
position until the pin can drop into place.
Secure the lock pin with the clip.

Adjust the discharge cap by turning the discharge
4.
adjuster. Turning the handle clockwise will rotate
the discharge cap upward. turning the handle
counterclockwise will rotate the discharge cap
downward.
As with any other piece of outdoor equipment, getting the
feel for how your machine operates and getting to know
the best techniques for particular jobs are important to
overall good performance.
CHIppING opERaTIoN
The chipping operation takes place on the front of the
machine, where hardened steel chipper blades are
mounted on a rotating disk assembly. Material fed into the
chipper chute is sliced into small chips and propelled out
through a discharge tube.
Move machine to a clear, level area outdoors before
starting. Do not operate in the vicinity of bystanders.
Make sure cutting chamber is empty before starting.

4.3 SToppING THE CHIppER
Move throttle to slowest position.
