7.2 Starting the program
Start the PCR programs from the editor or the navigation tree.
If the PIN function is activated, you can only start programs which are stored below your user node (see
p. 55).
Prerequisites
You are logged in as user and the program to be started is saved.
1. Mark the program in the navigation tree with the arrow keys or open it in the editor.
2. Insert the sample tubes (see Loading the thermoblock on p. 50).
3. Close the heated lid (see Closing the heated lid on p. 27).
(For devices from the Mastercycler ep series with motorized lid, this will be closed automatically when
the program is started.)
4. Press the Start key.
If several cyclers are connected, the Cycler Selection dialog appears.
5. Mark the desired cycler.
6. Press the OK function key.
7. Devices from the Mastercycler ep series only: you are prompted to enter the tube type. Select the tube
type used: Tubes for individual tubes or Plate for a PCR plate. Press the OK function key.
The program is started and the status view appears.
