The antivibration pads should isolate microscope workplaces from external oscillations.
The antivibration pads are positioned under the respective feet of the microscope.
For an example see Figure 1.

The choice of the antivibration pads depends upon the weight of the microscope and its
components. Of decisive importance here is the mass affecting the respective microscope foot.
The necessary antivibration pads can be chosen from 5 categories.

A rule of thumb for selecting the antivibration pads cannot be provided, as the range of variation
of the microscope, its attachments and accessories, as well as of the most varied range of
micromanipulators is extremely broad.
