Tascam FW-1884
Introduction
Logic Pro 7 supports the Tascam FW-1884, FE-8 extension and the FW-1082.
Version
1.10
of
the
plug-in
also
supports
the
SoftLCD
application
which
displays
information
on
track
names,
parameter
assignments
and
the
current
value
of
the
encoders.
SoftLCD
displays
the
tracks’
current
automation
mode
while
one
of
the
automation
mode
buttons
is
held
down.
The
corresponding
encoder
edits
the
parameter.
Alerts
are
displayed
in
SoftLCD.
Select
buttons
allow
you
to
remotely-control
alert
buttons.
The
following
text
referring
to
the
FW-1884
also
applies
to
FE-8
and
FW-1082,
except
where
mentioned
explicitly.
Set Up
Please
follow
these
steps
before
using
your
control
surface
with
Logic
Pro.

Ensure
that
the
FW-1884’s
MIDI
driver
is
installed.
See
the
FW-1884
documentation
for
details.
Â
Connect the FW-1884 to your computer with the supplied FireWire cable.
Â
Boot Logic Pro. The FW-1884 is installed automatically.
Assignment Overview
A
right-aligned
modifier
button
(such
as
SHIFT)
below
a
button
description
indicates
that
the
button
has
an
alternate
meaning/use
while
holding
down
this
modifier.
Note:
The
FE-8
units
only
offer
the
Channel
Strip
section,
so
other
facilities
mentioned
here
don’t
apply.
The
FW-1884
ENCODERS
section
does,
however,
apply
to
the
FE-8
channel
strips.
The FW-1082 has no channel encoders, and offers an extended channel strip section.
