K-Type Thermocouple Extension Harness
The 30-2066 K-Type Thermocouple Extension Harness kit contains a 10’ thermocouple
grade extension harness, along with mounting hardware to mate with the AEM 30-2065
K-Type Thermocouple. The sensor end of the harness contains two ring terminals that
connect to the 30-2065 K-Type thermocouple, see figure 1 below for details on
connecting to the K-Type thermocouple. The other end of the harness contains a 3-
position single row connector that mates with various AEM EGT devices. For use with a
different style of connector, the harness can be cut and reterminated. NOTE: Pay
special attention to polarity and wire color when reterminating. YELLOW IS POSITIVE,
RED IS NEGATIVE.
Connecting the Extension Harness and Thermocouple
Slide the supplied heat shrink onto the sensor cable. Connect the RED wire from the
thermocouple to the RED wire on the harness and the YELLOW wire from the
thermocouple to the YELLOW wire on the harness using the supplied 4-40 screws and
hex nuts. Make sure the connections are not touching. Center the heat shrink over the
connections and apply mild heat to the heat shrink until it shrinks over the connections.
