The Grand Tour
Display latch
This latch secures the LCD panel in its closed
position. Slide the latch to open the display.
Microphone jack
A standard 3.5 mm mini microphone jack enables
connection of a monaural microphone or other
device for audio input.
Headphone jack
A standard 3.5 mm mini headphone jack enables
connection of a stereo headphone (16 ohm
minimum) or other device for audio output. When
you connect headphones, the internal speaker is
automatically disabled.
Volume control
Use this dial to adjust the volume of the system
speaker and headphones.
Infrared port
This infrared port is compatible with Infrared Data
Association (IrDA 1.1) standards. It enables
cableless 4 Mbps, 1.152 Mbps, 115.2 Kbps,
57.6 Kbps, 38.4 Kbps, 19.2 Kbps or 9.6 Kbps
data transfer with IrDA 1.1 compatible external
devices. (Provided with some models)
Wireless
communication
switch
Slide this switch toward the left of the computer
to turn on Wireless communication. Slide it
toward the right of the computer to turn off the
functions. (Provided with some models)
Wireless
communication
LED
Indicates whether the wireless LAN is active or
not.
(The availability of this function depends on the
model you purchased.)
Set the switch to off in airplanes and hospitals. Check the Wireless
communication indicator. It will stop glowing when the wireless
communication.
Multiple Digital
Media Card Slot
Slide the cover toward the left to access the
Multiple Digital Media Card Slot of your computer.
This slot lets you easily transfer data from devices,
such as digital camera and PDA, that use flash
memory (SD/MS/MS Pro/SM/MMC/xD memory
cards). (Provided with some models)
Keep foreign objects out of the Multiple Digital Media Card Slot. A pin or
similar object can damage the computer’s circuitry.
