Disc playback reminders

• If the TV does not operate properly, static electricity build-up may be the cause. Turn off the

TV, and then disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet. Reconnect the power cord, and
then press

on the TV control panel or on the remote control to turn on the TV again.

• If an incompatible disc is loaded, one of the following messages will appear on-screen:

“Incorrect Disc”, “Disc region incorrect” or “Enter Password”, depending on the type of the
loaded disc. If this is the case, check your disc again (see pages 55 and 77).

• Some discs may take a minute or so to start playback.
• When you load a disc with the playback side facing forward, “Reading” appears on-screen

but it will be replaced by “Incorrect Disc”. Eject the disc and load it again, making sure the
playback side is now facing backward.

• The playback resume function may not work on some discs.
• Some DVDs may have fixed playback operations designed by the DVD manufacturer. Since

the TV follows this design, some playback features may not be available. You may refer to
the instructions accompanying the DVD.

• In many instances, a menu screen will appear after disc playback. Prolonged display of an

on-screen menu may damage your television set, permanently etching that menu image on
the screen. To avoid this, turn off the TV once disc playback is completed.

• There may be a slight delay between the button press and the function it activates.
• The prohibition symbol “

X” appears on the upper right corner of the screen when you try to

employ a playback function that is not available on the disc, or that is not yet accessible at
this time. This does not indicate a problem with the TV.
