• Several features have been recently
introduced in the PDF 1.6 file format including
the following significant additions that are
supported by Fiery:
• Transparency features that are now
native in Adobe graphics and layout
programs provide effects such as soft
drop shadows, feathered edges, and
layered graphics that blend into one
another. Designers use transparency
effects to blend text with pictures, and
pictures with pictures.
• Overprint feature provides an ink preview
that closely approximates how objects
will appear when printed on an offset
press.
• Ability to display images using JPEG2000
compression and to allow 16-bit images.
• An extension to the use of streams to
allow greater compression of PDF files.
• Watermark Annotation.
• Embedded PDF 1.6 OpenType font.
• AES Encryption.
• PDF files larger than 2 gigabytes in size.
• EFI’s development and support of Adobe
PDF printing standards empowers Fiery with
the highest levels of file compatibility and
assures speedy processing of all files.
