Requirements for the installation point
If the measuring point is not sufficiently rigid, a bracket or flange
should be used to support the gauge (possibly even remotely via
a flexible capillary line). Instruments should be protected against
coarse dirt and wide fluctuations in ambient temperature. EN 837-2
"Selection and installation recommendations for pressure gauges"
should be followed.
3. Permissible ambient and working temperatures
When installing the pressure gauge it must be ensured that, taking
into account the influence of convection and heat radiation, the
temperature does not exceed or drop below the permissible limits
for the ambient and medium temperatures. The influence of tempe-
rature on the class accuracy should also be taken into account.
4. Requirements for use in potentially explosive
atmospheres
The built-in Reed switch does not have its own
ignition source.
It is a ‘simple apparatus‘ in terms of intrinsic safety
as defined in EN 50 020.
When powered by a tested and certified intrinsically safe circuit
(associated apparatus), these switches may be used in potentially
explosive atmospheres up to Category 2 without having to take any
further measures.
Operating Temperature
Ambient: -20 ... +60 °C
Medium: The permissible medium temperature does not only
depend on the instrument design, but also on the ignition
temperature of the surrounding gases, vapours or dust.
Both aspects must be taken into account.
For permissible maximum medium temperatures see table 1.
