Hazardous pressure media (such as Oxygen, Acetylene, flamma-

ble gases or liquids, toxic gases or liquids), as well as refrigera-
tion plants or compressors, may require attention beyond that
of the standard regulations. In these instances, the appropriate
specific safety codes or regulations must be considered.

After an external fire, all gauges must be checked and, if neces-

sary, replaced before recommissioning the plant.

Serious injury and/or damage can occur should the appropriate

regulations not be observed.

2. Mechanical connection

In accordance with the general technical regulations for pressure

gauges (i.e. EN 837-2). When screwing gauges in, the force required

for this must not be applied through the case or terminal box, but

rather through the spanner flats (using a suitable tool) provided for
this purpose.

Correct sealing of pressure gauge connections with parallel threads

is achieved by means of suitable sealing ring, sealing washer or

WIKA profile seals. The sealing of tapered threads
(e.g. NPT threads) is made by the thread itself,  with additional
sealing material such as, for example, PTFE tape (EN 837-2).

The torque required depends on the seal used.
In order to simplify the correct orientation of the gauge, connec-
ting the gauge by means of a union nut or a LH-RH adjusting nut
is recommended. When a blow-out device is fitted to a pressure
gauge it should be resistant to blocking by debris and dirt.
