Settings for Optional Lens
Converters
Lens converters for wide-angle, telephoto,
and fisheye photography are available
separately for the COOLPIX 990. Each
of these converters is adapted to a par-
ticular combination of settings, including
focus mode, zoom position, and metering method. Using the
lens sub-menu, you can select combinations of settings suited
to particular lens converters. The following options are avail-
able:

• Zoom fixed at widest angle
• Focus mode fixed at infinity
• Metering method fixed at center-weighted
• Built-in flash and any external flash attach-
ments disabled
• Four corners of frame blacked out to
create circular frame
Fisheye2
(for FC-E8
fisheye
converter)
• Zoom fixed at widest angle
• Focus mode fixed at infinity
• Built-in flash and any external flash attach-
ments disabled
• Image fills entire frame
Option Description
Normal
No modifications are made to settings. Use
this option when no lens converter is
attached.
