which the camera’s telescoping lens can be used to magnify

processing is used to further magnify the image up to 4 ×,
for a total of about 33 ×. Use the zoom buttons to zoom
in and out.

increasing the area visible in the frame. Press the
button to zoom in on your subject so that it fi lls a larger

will trigger digital zoom. The zoom indicator will turn

Digital Zoom
In digital zoom, data from the camera’s image sensor are processed digitally, enlarging
the center portion of the picture to fi ll the frame. Unlike optical zoom, digital zoom
does not increase the amount of detail visible in the picture. Instead, details visible at
maximum optical zoom are simply enlarged, producing a slightly “grainy” image.
