To choose a fl ash mode:

Manual Pop-Up

When Manual is selected for Speedlight opt. > Pop up, the built-in Speedlight can be
raised by pressing the

button. When raised, the fl ash will fi re whenever the shut-

ter is released. The fl ash mode can not be changed while the Speedlight is lowered;
when the Speedlight is raised, press the

button to cycle through fl ash modes in the

order fi ll fl ash, fi ll fl ash + red-eye reduction, fi ll-fl ash + slow sync, fi ll fl ash + rear-curtain
sync.

Flash Range

Flash range varies with zoom position. When the camera is zoomed all the way out, the
built-in Speedlight has a range of 0.5–6.0 m / 1´8˝–19´8˝. The range at maximum zoom
is 1.0–3.0 m / 3´3˝–9´10˝ (Auto ISO). At ranges of 0.5 m (1´8˝) or less, the fl ash may not
light the entire subject. When using the fl ash at short range, play pictures back after
shooting to check the results.

Low Battery

If the built-in Speedlight fi res while the

(low battery) icon is displayed, the monitor

will turn off while the fl ash recharges.

Sensitivity (ISO Equivalency;

52)

A sensitivity of 400 is not recommended when using a fl ash.

Optional Speedlights can be mounted on the camera’s accessory shoe (

104).
