Windows Keys
The keyboard has one key that performs Windows-specific functions.
Key Icon Description
Windows key Pressed alone, this key has the same effect as
clicking on the Windows Start button; it launches the
Start menu. It can also be used with other keys to
provide a variety of function:
+ Displays the desktop.
+ Opens the Windows Explore.
+ Opens the Search: All Files dialog box.
+ Cycles through Sidebar gadgets.
+ Locks your computer (if you are
connected to a network domain), or switch users (if
you’re not connected to a network domain)
+ Opens Help and Support.
+ Minimizes all windows.
+ Opens the Run dialog box.
+ Cycles through programs no the taskbar.
+ Opens Ease of Access Center.
+ Opens Windows Mobility Center.
+ Displays the System Properties
dialog box
+ + Restores the minimized
windows to the desktop.
+ Activates next taskbar button.
+ Brings all gadgets to the front
and select Windows Sidebar.
+ + Searchs for computers (if you
are on a network)
+ + Uses the arrow keys to cycle
through programs on the taskbar by using Window
Flip 3-D
Application key This key has the same effect as clicking the right
mouse button; it opens the application’s context
menu.
