COMBINATION AIR VALVE FOR SEWAGE
MODEL D-023
A. Installation
1.
The SAV (sewage air valve) should be installed vertically on
a riser on the crown of the pipeline.
2.
An inlet isolating valve should be installed underneath the SAV.
B. Periodic Maintenance
The frequency for periodic maintenance depends on suspended solids and
grease-load conditions. With high loads, the frequency should be once a
month. In low loads, it should be at least once every year.
1. Shut off the isolating valve underneath the air valve.
2. Open the pressure relief valve (21) and make sure internal pressure is released.
3. Open and remove all four bolts (20) on the top cover of the air valve.
4. Pull out and remove the float and cover assembly as one piece. (1- 3, 5 - 17).
5. Rinse with water and wipe clean the float and cover assembly as well as the inner
surface of the valve body.
6. Insert the float and cover assembly into the valve body in the correct direction
(see fig. 1) and tighten the bolts (20).
NOTE: Make sure that the O-ring (4) is properly seated in its groove on
the valve body (4).
7. Close the pressure relief valve (21) and re-open the isolating valve.
