Unshielded Twisted Pair Category 5 Cable
The NC1020 Cu Gigabit Server Adapter can use existing Category 5 Unshielded Twisted Pair
(UTP) (or better) cable to deliver Gigabit Ethernet over copper, according to the IEEE
802.3ab specifications. For new installations, Category 5e (enhanced Category 5) cable is
recommended. For troubleshooting and other information about cabling, refer to “UTP Cable
Specifications” in Appendix C.
