Adding servers to the Reporting Center console

Before you can being monitoring a Storage Mirroring server, you must first add it to the
Reporting Center console. You can add servers manually or by importing them from the
Storage Mirroring Replication Console.

Adding a Reporting Center server manually

1. Right-click Storage Mirroring servers in the tree and select Configuration, New,

New Node.

2. Specify the Name, which is the Storage Mirroring server that you want to monitor.

Keep in mind that all names and Aliases must be unique and in all lowercase
letters.

3. If desired, enter a Description of the server.

4. Specify a Server username and Server password that has both local/domain

administrator access and Storage Mirroring administrator access on the server you
are monitoring. Click Verify to confirm your credentials.

5. If you want to modify the Port that is used for monitoring, enable the checkbox and

then select a different port number.

6. If necessary, you can create Aliases for alternate names for the server.

7. Click OK to insert the server in the console.

Importing a list of servers from the Storage Mirroring
Replication Console

1. From the Replication Console, group the servers you want to use in the Reporting

Center console and then export the server list by selecting File, Export server
group configuration
. For details on grouping servers in the Replication Console
or exporting the server list, see the Storage Mirroring Recover User's Guide.

2. If necessary, copy the .xml file created from the server export to your machine

running the Reporting Center console.

3. From the Reporting Center console, select File, Import.

4. Browse to the .xml file that you saved and click Open.

5. After the import is complete, right-click an imported server in the navigation tree

and select Configuration, Assign Credentials.

6. Specify the Server username and Server Password that has both local/domain

administrator access and Storage Mirroring administrator access on the server and
click OK.

7. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for each imported server.
