Write-Protecting Optical Disks

Each side of an optical disk can be write-protected by sliding the write-protect
button in the direction of the arrow on the disk.

With rewritable optical disks, the use of the write protect button ensures data
safety for files that have been previously written to the disk and prevents any
additional files being written to the disk.

With write-once optical disks, existing files cannot be altered or erased whether
or not the write-protect button has been set. However, the use of the write-
protect button will prevent any additional files being written to a disk.
