To determine the Glass Total Meter calibration number for any glass Tex
not given in charts E and F calculate the calibration number as the example
below.
VRC-2000-XXX, Pro Chopper and 4 Strand Chopper assemblies (70020-X)
Example: Tex 2400 g / km
Rotor circumference:
VRC-2000-XXX, Pro Chopper and 4 Strand choppers (70020-X) = 95.7555 mm.
6 Strand Chopper Assembly (70010-1) = 137.2489 mm.
1. Divide tex number by 10
6
mm and by 1000 g to get kg / mm.
2400 grams
1 x 10
6
mm 1000 g
2.4 kg
1 km
1 km 1 kg 1 x 10
6
mm
2. Multiply the circumference of the chopper rotor in mm by the glass tex
in mm.
95.7555 mm
2.4 kg
1 rev
1 x 10
6
mm
3. Multiply the number of strands by the result of step 2.
1 x .0002298 kg / rev = .0002298 kg / rev
4. Divide the result of step 3 by 2 (the number of pulses per revolution) to
get the number of kilograms per pulse.
.0002298 kg
2 Pulses
1 rev
1 rev
5. Now multiply the result of step 4 by 10 to account for the one place
decimal in the display.
.0001149 kg / pulse x 10 = .001149 kg / 10 pulses
This corresponds with the chart for 1 strand of 2400 Tex glass through a
VRC-2000-XXX, Pro Chopper and 4 Strand Chopper (70020-X).
