6.9 Serial COM Interface (RS232)

The serial interface is used for digital data transmission. The RS232 interface can be connected by using a
commercially available 9‐pin SUB‐D cable.

Note:

Pin 9 of the serial interface connector can be used for additional switching of a 5V
power supply, e.g. for operating a serial barcode scanner. The COM +5V switch in
the service slot of the device must be put in the ON position in order to use this
function. A subsequent restart of the computer might be required in order to
properly activate this function..
