3. Stop the compressor when the suction pressure is just above vacuum.
4. Disable the compressor.
Compressor Removal
1. Pump down system to be replaced.
2. Close suction and discharge valves.
3. Evacuate remaining refrigerant out of the compressor.
4. Shut down compressor system.
5. Turn off main disconnect.
6. Remove crankcase heater leads, and compressor power leads from the contactor. Record
color sequence of leads.
7. Turn on disconnect.
8. Remove leads from the compressor motor adapter.
9. Remove crankcase heater.
10. Undo roto lock valves and mounting bolts.
11. Remove compressor.
Skid Removal
1. Disable the system being removed.
2. Disconnect the signal wires from the skid being removed.
3. Turn off disconnect and disconnect crankcase heater and compressor power leads.
4. Close the chilled water shut off valve for the system being removed.
5. Pump down or completely evacuate the system. Use the procedures listed above.
6. Cut the liquid line between the receiver outlet valve and the inlet to the liquid line/suction line
heat exchanger.
7. Cut the discharge line above the high pressure switch and transducer. Make sure the cut is
above the top of the evaporator mounting bracket and below the check valve.
8. Remove the retaining screws from the skid base.
9. Disconnect the hoses.
10. Pull system straight out. It will have to be tilted slightly to clear the 1” lip on the chiller base.
Condenser Fan System
The 1055 contains a nominal 10 ton condenser split into 2 equal circuits. Each circuit is independent
from the other. The 2 condenser fans draw air across the condenser when either or both of the
refrigeration systems are on. The fan speed is controlled by a 1 HP variable frequency drive.
VFD operation
The VFD receives two signals from the controller, the start signal from the fan relay, and the speed
signal from analog output #1.
The controller reads the head pressure from each system, and uses the highest value to control the
