OVERVIEW

The Schreiber 1055 chiller is designed to provide constant chilled water to an Intera MR system.

It is built for outdoor or indoor installation. The chiller is completely self contained and includes 2

pumps, 2 5 ton refrigeration modules, condenser and fans, and a chilled water reservoir. The modular

construction allows for quick and easy service.

The microprocessor control and remote terminal allow for operation of the chiller at the chiller and

from a remote location. The 4 x 20 LCD display shows system status, alarms and diagnostics.

If required, the 1055AC can be supplied in an RC version. This is for installations where the chiller is

mounted indoors and a remote condenser is installed outdoors.

CONSTRUCTION

The 1055 is built on a tubular steel base, with a 16 gauge powder coated steel cabinet. The internal

components are internally mounted on a 16 gauge galvanized steel base.

All of the access panels can be removed without tools. The electrical controls are enclosed in a 2

compartment weather proof enclosure.

REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

Each chiller contains 2 5 ton compressor/evaporator modules. Each module has one hermetically

sealed scroll compressor, one brazed plate evaporator (316 SS plates), TEV, filter drier, and sight

glass. The compressor has suction and discharge isolation valves. Each system has a receiver with

isolation valves so that the entire charge can be pumped into the receiver to remove the module.

Each module is connected to a single, dual circuit condenser. The condenser has two 1/2HP 1140

RPM propellers. The motor speed is controlled by a variable speed drive to control head pressure.

The refrigeration system uses R-22.

Each refrigeration system is totally independent. One can be removed from the system while the

other is operating.

CHILLED WATER SYSTEM

The 1055 contains two pumps, one for the cryo-shield compressor and one for the Gradient Coil

Amplifier and Gradient Coil Heat Exchanger. There are separate connections on the front of the chiller

for each piping loop.

Inside the chiller is a 65 gallon, double wall insulated reservoir. The inner layer is 304 stainless steel
