Please note that there are two sets of alarm contacts: One set in the chiller and one set in
the chiller control panel. During normal operation, when the unit is powered, the Chiller
valves (valves 1 and 3) will open and the city water valve and drain (valves 2 and 4)
remain closed. In the event of an alarm condition, the valve positions will alternate,
shutting off the chiller supply and opening the city water supply.
If the unit is in automatic reset mode, closing of the alarm contacts on the chiller will
cause the module to reopen the chiller valves and close the city water valves.
Operating Modes
For normal operation, the operating mode switch (on left) should be in the center (auto)
position. To operate the unit in chilled water mode, turn the switch to the right (as
shown), for city water only turn the switch to the left. When in these last two modes
there is no mode switching regardless of the alarm contact positions.
Reset Modes
Automatic Reset mode will allow the unit to switch to city water in the event of an alarm,
and will automatically return to chilled water if the alarm contact closes. In this mode,
when the unit receives an alarm it will switch into city water mode. If this is to be
avoided, turn the switch to the right (shown). It will stay in this mode regardless of the
alarm contact positions. To reset after alarms have been cleared, simply turn the switch
to the left and back to the right.
