COMMERCIAL GAS E.I. TROUBLESHOOTING SEQUENCE
For Honeywell Valve
NOTE:
Troubleshooting should be done by qualified service personnel familiar with the start-up and checkout procedure.
TURN GAS SUPPLY OFF
SET THERMOSTAT
TO CALL FOR HEAT
VALVE IS POWERED
(24 VAC NOMINAL)
IS FLUE DAMPER POWERED
ACROSS TERMINALS 3 & 7
IGNITES WARMS UP AND
GLOWS RED
PILOT VALVE OPENS
TURN GAS ON,
PILOT BURNER LIGHTS?
MAIN VALVE OPENS?
SYSTEM ON
CHECK

LINE VOLTAGE POWER

LOW VOLTAGE TRANSFORMER

AQUASTAT (E.C.O.)

WIRING
CHECK

UNPLUG IGNITER
MEASURE VOLTAGE AT VALVE
TERMINALS. (SEE INSET)
REPLACE IGNITER -
FLAMEROD ASSEMBLY
REPLACE VALVE
MEASURE VOLTAGE TO
VALVE, VOLTAGE MUST BE AT
LEAST 19.5 VAC.
REPLACE IGNITER -
FLAMEROD ASSEMBLY
REPLACE IGNITER SENSOR
AND RETAIN.
RESTART
TROUBLESHOOTING SEQUENCE.
DOES MAIN VALVE OPEN?
DISCARD OLD IGNITER
SENSOR
ELECTRONIC
IGNITION
TERMINALS
REPLACE ENTIRE
DAMPER ASSEMBLY
REPLACE VALVE
CHECK
TRANSFORMER LINE
VOLT SUPPLY
REPLACE VALVE,
SAVE OLD IGNITER
SENSOR FOR
SERVICE
SENSING ROD.
MINIMUM:
.3 MICRO-AMPS
VOLTAGE 24
INSET
NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THE FLUE DAMPER DRIVE / DEVICE OR MECHANISM.
IF THE UNIT IS DEFECTIVE REPLACE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY.
