Installing a DIMM
Unplug the power supply before adding or removing DIMMs or other
system components. Failure to do so can cause severe damage to both the
motherboard and the components.
1. Position the DIMM at a 30º-45º
angle, then match the notch on
the DIMM with the break on the
socket.
2. Carefully push the DIMM to the
socket until its connectors (golden
fingers) are fully-inserted to the
socket.
3. Press the DIMM firmly until the
DIMM socket retaining clips snap
back and secure the DIMM in
place.
When installed, the DIMM appears
as shown.
