Block (Multi-Sector Transfer) M [Auto]
Enables or disables data multi-sectors transfers. When set to [Auto], the data transfer from
and to the device occurs multiple sectors at a time if the device supports multi-sector transfer
feature. When set to [Disabled], the data transfer from and to the device occurs one sector
at a time. Configuration options: [Disabled] [Auto]
PIO Mode [Auto]
Selects the PIO mode. Configuration options: [Auto] [0] [1] [2] [3] [4]
DMA Mode [Auto]
Selects the DMA mode. Configuration options: [Auto]
SMART Monitoring [Auto]
Sets the Smart Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology.

32Bit Data Transfer [Enabled]
Enables or disables 32-bit data transfer. Configuration options: [Disabled] [Enabled]

Storage Configuration
The Storage Configuration menu allows you to configure your storage device(s). Select an
item then press
SATA Configuration [Enhanced]
Configuration options: [Disabled] [Compatible] [Enhanced]
Configure SATA as [IDE]
Sets the configuration for the Serial ATA connectors supported by the Southbridge chip.
Configuration options: [IDE] [RAID] [AHCI]
• If you want to use the Serial ATA hard disk drives as Parallel ATA physical storage
devices, keep the default setting [IDE].
• If you want the Serial ATA hard disk drives to use the Advanced Host Controller Interface
(AHCI), set this item to [AHCI]. The AHCI allows the onboard storage driver to enable
advanced Serial ATA features that increases storage performance on random workloads
by allowing the drive to internally optimize the order of commands.
• If you want to create a RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, or RAID 10 set using the Intel
®
Matrix
Storage Technology from the Serial ATA hard disk drives, set this item to [RAID].
Hard Disk Write Protect [Disabled]
Disables or enables device write protection. This will be effective only if the device is
accessed through BIOS. Configuration option: [Disabled] [Enabled]
IDE Detect Time Out (Sec) [35]
Selects the time out value for detecting ATA/ATAPI devices. Configuration options: [0] [5] [10]
