USB Configuration

The items in this menu allow you to change the USB-related features.

The USB Devices item shows the auto-detected values. If no USB device is detected, the

item shows None.

Legacy USB Support [Enabled]

[Enabled]

Enables the support for USB devices on legacy operating systems (OS).

[Disabled]

The USB devices can be used only for the BIOS setup program.

[Auto]

Allows the system to detect the presence of USB devices at startup. If

detected, the USB controller legacy mode is enabled. If no USB device is

detected, the legacy USB support is disabled.

Legacy USB3.0 Support [Enabled]

[Enabled]

Enables the support for USB 3.0 devices on legacy operating systems

(OS).

[Disabled]

Disables the function.

EHCI Hand-off [Disabled]

[Enabled]

Enables the support for operating systems without an EHCI hand-off

feature.

[Disabled]

Disables the function.

Onboard Devices Configuration

HD Audio Controller [Enabled]

[Enabled]

Enables the High Definition Audio Controller.

[Disabled]

Disables the controller.

Front Panel Type [HD]

This item appears only when you set the HD Audio Cnotroller item to [Enabled] and allows

you to set the front panel audio connector (AAFP) mode to legacy AC’97 or high-definition

audio depending on the audio standard that the front panel audio module supports.

[HD]

Sets the front panel audio connector (AAFP) mode to high definition audio.

[AC97]

Sets the front panel audio connector (AAFP) mode to legacy AC’97

ASM1061 Storage Controller [AHCI Mode]

Allows you to select the ASMedia 1061 storage controller operating mode.
[Disabled]

Disables the controller.

[IDE Mode]

Set to [IDE Mode] when you want to use the Serial ATA hard disk drives as

Parallel ATA physical storage devices.

[AHCI Mode]

Set to [AHCI Mode] when you want the SATA hard disk drives to use the

AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface). The AHCI allows the onboard

storage driver to enable advanced Serial ATA features that increases

storage performance on random workloads by allowing the drive to

internally optimize the order of commands.
