3rd Party Storage Configuration
The 3rd Party Storage Configuration menu automatically detects third party SATA storage
devices and allows you to configure these storage devices. Select an item then press
Marvel Controller [IDE Mode]
Allows you to select the controller’s operator mode.
Configuration options: [Disabled] [IDE Mode] [AHCI Mode]
SATA 6G-1/SATA 6G-2 [Not Detected]
While entering Setup, the BIOS automatically detects the presence of SATA devices. This
displays the status of the detected SATA devices.
LBA/Large Mode [Auto]
Enables or disables the LBA mode. Setting to [Auto] enables the LBA mode if the device
supports this mode, and if the device was not previously formatted with LBA mode disabled.
Configuration options: [Disabled] [Auto]
Block (Multi-Sector Transfer) M [Auto]
Enables or disables data multi-sectors transfers. When set to [Auto], the data transfer from
and to the device occurs multiple sectors at a time if the device supports multi-sector transfer
feature. When set to [Disabled], the data transfer from and to the device occurs one sector
at a time. Configuration options: [Disabled] [Auto]

Storage Configuration
The Storage Configuration menu allows you to configure your storage device(s). Select an
item then press
SATA Configuration [Enhanced]
Configuration options: [Disabled] [Compatible] [Enhanced]
Configure SATA as [IDE]
Sets the configuration for the Serial ATA connectors supported by the Southbridge chip.
Configuration options: [IDE] [AHCI]
• If you want to use the Serial ATA hard disk drives as Parallel ATA physical storage
devices, keep the default setting [IDE].
• If you want the Serial ATA hard disk drives to use the Advanced Host Controller Interface
(AHCI), set this item to [AHCI]. The AHCI allows the onboard storage driver to enable
advanced Serial ATA features that increases storage performance on random workloads
by allowing the drive to internally optimize the order of commands.
Hard Disk Write Protect [Disabled]
Disables or enables device write protection. This will be effective only if the device is
accessed through BIOS. Configuration option: [Disabled] [Enabled]
IDE Detect Time Out (Sec) [35]
Selects the time out value for detecting ATA/ATAPI devices. Configuration options: [0] [5] [10]
