2.5.4 PCI slots
The PCI slots support cards such as a LAN card, SCSI card, USB card, and other
cards that comply with PCI specifications. Refer to the figure below for the location
of the slots.
2.5.5 PCI Express x4 slot & PCI Express x1 slot
This motherboard supports PCI Express x4 and PCI Express x1 network cards,
SCSI cards and other cards that comply with the PCI Express specifications. Refer
to the figure below for the location of the slot.
2.5.6 PCI Express x16 slots
This motherboard supports two NVIDIA ® SLI ™ -ready PCI Express x16 graphic
cards that comply with PCI Express specifications. Refer to the figure below for the
location of the slots.
• Connect a rear chassis fan to the chassis (CHA_FAN1 or CHA_FAN2)
connector when using two graphics cards for better thermal environment.
See page 2-30 for details.
• In single card mode, you may use either the blue or black slot for PCI
Express x16 cards.
• In NVIDIA ® SLI ™ mode, the PCI Express x16 slots work at the full bandwidth
of PCI Express x16 for a combined bandwidth of x32.
• We recommend that you provide sufficient power when running NVIDIA ®
SLI ™ mode. See page 2-31 and 2-32 for details.
