Installation
Read instructions before using.
Unfold cover and remove Warranty Card and foam block from
vent area. Locate ”FRONT” tag, indicating which part of the
cover goes to the front of the motorcycle.
Position the front of the cover on motorcycle with the vent posi-
tioned approximately over the seating area. Starting in the front
wheel area, pull down over the windshield and “tuck” the elas-
tic hem under the centerline of the wheel.
Working toward the rear of the motorcycle, slide the cover
down the sides, avoiding “snag” points. The cover should be
long enough to allow the elastic hem to fully wrap below the
centerline of the rear wheel and have a tight fit along the
perimeter. Care should also be taken to avoid placing the black
material against hot engine components as melting or burning
may occur.
Caution: Mirrors, muffler ends, shifters, brakes and foot pegs
are common wear points. Do not allow fabric to “snag” around
them. Antennas are capable of puncturing the cover – use
extreme care.
Important
The aluminized heat-resistant coating is designed to protect
the cover from melting or burning when in contact with hot
engine parts, pipes and mufflers. Waiting approximately
five-ten minutes for cool-down before placing the cover on the
motorcycle will greatly increase the life of your cover.
Note: The aluminized coated fabric is similar to high quality
ironing board cover materials. The coating may experience
some minor “flaking” during normal use and this will not affect
the performance of the cover.
Grommet patches are provided to enable you to securely lock
the cover under the motorcycle. A cable lock or chain is rec-
ommended. However, should you be unable to unlock the
cover, it may have to be cut through the hem and grommet
area to be removed.
Care and Cleaning
Your cover requires very little maintenance. Normal dirt and
grime should be brushed off with a soft terry cloth or removed
with warm water and a mild detergent using a sponge or terry
cloth. The cover should be thoroughly dried before using.
Caution: Do not place in washing machine and do not wring or
twist the cover to remove moisture.
A water-repellant spray material, such as 3M Scotchguard
®
, is
recommended for increased water resistance.
Although protected with UV inhibitors, the fabric may fade in
direct sunlight after continuous use. This is normal wear.
Important
Failure to comply with the above directions may reduce the life
of your cover. If you have any questions or comments, please
contact either your dealer or DOWCO Inc..

Your cover also contains an elastic shock cord that is sewn into a continuous hem. This feature eliminates the need for tie-downs.
The integral vent allows moisture to escape. The following information should be used to ensure maximum longevity.

This cover must be completely removed prior to
starting or operating the vehicle. Failure to do
so could result in serious injury and/or property
damage.
In severely windy conditions, “ballooning” of the
cover may occur, which may result in the wind
causing the motorcycle to tip over. It is strongly
recommended that your motorcycle be sheltered
whenever high winds are expected. If sheltering
is not an option, facing into or rearward of strong
gusts may reduce the potential for wind damage.
Attaching a bungee cord or cable through grom-
met areas may also help prevent “ballooning” in
high winds.
