1. Remove the oil cap and the main engine shroud and set aside for a moment. You will notice four screw type
studs protruding from the firewall. Plastic push-on retainers are attached to them securing the firewall pad.
Remove these retainers either by forcibly pulling them free or by unscrewing them and leaving the pad in
place. Since these retainers are designed to push on and lock they will need to be removed, by either method,
and will not be reused for the new firewall.

2. Your new firewall comes to you pre-shaped however it will be necessary for you to further shape the part in
order to achieve a nice contoured fit. Once you have achieved a good shape you will still need to force the
panel into an accurate position allowing you to install the new retainers. A second person will be very helpful
to hold the panels in place as you press in each chrome style retainer supplied with your kit over the factory
studs. It is important to know and understand that the hole for each retainer must be aligned so that the stud
is in the center of the hole. Before you attach any of the new retainers take a look at each location to make
sure you are able to align each hole. This is important because it will be difficult to remove and possibly
damage the retainer if you need to remove them to make further adjustment in the shape of the new panel.
With two people set the new firewall in place over the engine and tuck the part under the wiper cowl
overhang. The trickiest part will be to slide the firewall over the a/c line on the driver side. You will need to
manually maneuver this area as your friend helps you to lower the panel straight down into position. Before
you begin take a look at the battery cable and electrical lines, as well as the windshield washer fluid line at the
driver's side area. We need to make sure that they are all out of the way and allow the panel to set in this
area. This will require you to possibly zip tie whatever lines may be present in order to keep their position
preventing any possibility of these lines coming in contact with the new firewall.

3. Once you have set the panel in position, remove the protective liner at each attachment stud and then
simply align the hole and press in the chrome retainer caps. Remove the rest of the liner to finish the
installation and reinstall your engine shroud and oil cap. You have been provided with a small self-stick
stainless line cap.

4. The second application for the firewall installs in exactly the same way only you will need to refer to the
engine tuck procedure instructions first in order to prepare for the proper installation of this part. This
application will not use the small stainless line cap supplied with your kit allowing you to route your water and
fuel lines to their new location thorough the new firewall.
