Audio Down Mixer and Mono Mixer Function
(See Figure 1-3.) The Audio Down Mixer function provides for the selection
of any AES discrete, analog audio (or Dolby decoder where equipped)
sources serving as Left (

), Right (
R
), Center (
C
), Left Surround (
Ls
), and
Right Surround (
Rs
) individual signals to be multiplexed into a stereo pair
(Down Mix Left (
DM-L
) and Down Mix Right (
DM-R
)). The resulting stereo
pair
DM-L
and
DM-R
can in turn be routed and processed just like any of the
other audio sources described earlier.

The Mono Mixer function (Figure 1-4) generates an additional mono-mixed
channel from two selected AES, analog (or Dolby decoder where equipped)
input channels serving as left and right inputs. The resulting mono mix
channel

can in turn be routed and processed just like any of the other
audio sources described earlier.
